The organizers of Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 have revealed the seeding of 24 teams across two stages. The following 16 teams have been placed in the Opening Stage: FURIA Esports, Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, Complexity Gaming, BIG, Fnatic, The MongolZ, paiN Gaming, GamerLegion, MIBR, Cloud9, FlyQuest, Passion UA, Wildcard, Rare Atom, and Imperial Esports. The remaining teams will start in the Elimination Stage: G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Team Vitality, Team Spirit, MOUZ, FaZe Clan, HEROIC, and 3DMAX. The seeding was based on Valve's updated ranking system. The Opening Stage matches will take place from November 30 to December 3, following the Swiss system. The top 8 teams will advance to the Elimination Stage, where another Swiss bracket will determine the 8 playoff participants. Opening and Elimination Stages Set for Shanghai Major

On November 24, the final matches of European RMR B were played. As a result, all 24 participants of the tournament have been confirmed. Teams that qualified through EU RMR A and EU RMR B: Team Vitality, MOUZ, BIG, 3DMAX, FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, Cloud9, G2 Esports, HEROIC, Virtus.pro, Fnatic, Passion UA, GamerLegion, Team Spirit. Teams that qualified through the American RMR: Wildcard, MIBR, Team Liquid, Complexity Gaming, paiN Gaming, Imperial Esports, FURIA Esports. Teams that qualified through the Asia-Pacific RMR: The MongolZ, Rare Atom, FlyQuest. The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, featuring a prize pool of $1,250,000, will begin on November 30 and conclude on December 15.

European RMR B Concludes: All 24 Teams for Shanghai Major Confirmed

At the end of the third day of European RMR B, the first two teams to qualify for the Major from this tournament have been determined. With a 3-0 record, BIG and 3DMAX secured their spots at the Major. BIG defeated Sashi Esport and HEROIC in best-of-1 matches, then overcame Passion UA in a best-of-3 series (2:1). 3DMAX advanced by consecutively beating TSM, Eternal Fire, and G2 Esports, also with a 2:1 score in their final match. The remaining five participants from European RMR B who will qualify for the Shanghai Major will be decided during the next match days on November 23-24.

BIG and 3DMAX Qualify for the Shanghai Major

The Falcons management has announced roster changes in their Counter-Strike 2 lineup. Three players—Snappi, maden, and dupreeh—have left the main roster and were moved to the club’s bench. Additionally, s1mple has departed the lineup, concluding his loan with the club that began in late September 2024. As a result, the team’s roster now consists of just one player: Magisk, who has been representing Falcons since December last year. The team’s coach, zonic, remains in his position. In their announcement, Falcons revealed their intention to dedicate all efforts and resources to preparing a competitive roster for the 2025 season, following their absence from the Shanghai Major. Notably, the team participated in the European RMR A but ended with a 1-3 record, failing to qualify for the season’s main tournament.

Falcons Overhaul CS2 Roster: Snappi, maden, dupreeh Out, s1mple’s Loan Ends

On November 20, the final two teams qualified for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 through the European RMR A. Fnatic secured their spot at the major with a 3-2 record after defeating Eclot in the decisive round. BB Team and GamerLegion also ended the fifth round with a 3-2 record, but GamerLegion came out on top in the tiebreaker with a 2-1 score. As a result, GamerLegion earned their place at the Shanghai Major, while BB Team exited the RMR without securing qualification. The final seven participants for the Shanghai Major will be decided after the European RMR B matches, scheduled to take place from November 21 to 24.

Fnatic and GamerLegion Qualify for Shanghai Major

Following the matches on November 18, two teams from European RMR A secured their spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 with a flawless 3-0 record. Team Vitality triumphed in best-of-1 matches against GamerLegion and BB Team and dominated FaZe Clan in a best-of-3 series (2:0). MOUZ outperformed Nemiga Gaming and Sangal Esports before clinching a hard-fought victory against Natus Vincere (2:1). The European RMR A matches will continue on November 19 and 20. Team Vitality and MOUZ Qualify for the Shanghai Major

Valve has released a gameplay update for Counter-Strike 2. The developers have made several bug fixes and rotated the map pool. As part of the update, CS 2 now includes the maps Train, Basalt, Edin, Palais, and Whistle. Meanwhile, Valve has removed the maps Thera, Mills, Assembly, and Memento from the game and updated the Overpass map. Valve Adds Train to Counter-Strike 2

On November 13, three more teams secured their spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Wildcard and MIBR became the first teams to qualify through the American RMR, while FlyQuest claimed the third and final spot from the Asia-Pacific region. FlyQuest reached the major through the lower bracket of the regional RMR, defeating GR Gaming (2:0), DRILLAS (2:1), and Lynn Vision Gaming (2:0) consecutively. Previously, The Mongolz and Rare Atom had qualified from the region. Wildcard and MIBR earned their slots by winning three matches without any losses in the Swiss-format group stage. Wildcard defeated Team Liquid, paiN Gaming, and 9z Team, while MIBR triumphed over KRÜ Esports, Imperial Esports, and Complexity. A total of seven spots are being contested in the region for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. The regional RMR will conclude on November 15. The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 will be held in China from November 30 to December 15.
